#MondayMotivation

As I was preparing to write this note to you, I saw this hashtag — #MondayMotivation. Murphy’s Law says Mondays can be hard to get started and crazy. Can I get a witness?! Let me share some Monday Motivation with you.

I didn’t preach; Jerry did. The Spirit empowers us with different gifts for the good of all (1 Cor 12.7). We’re blessed with a number of gifted speakers. It allows me to plan & prepare for one of our most important Sundays, Christmas, and for 2018. Jesus is not finished with us; just look at what he has placed here.

Living things reproduce. Animals and plants do this. Churches should as well. Yesterday a young lady stepped forward ready to go public. We’ll be baptizing at least three souls in the coming days. The farmer does not see the seed growing until it breaks the surface. God is causing seeds to grow all around us. We also have a family planning to dedicate themselves as they raise their child. There is new life here.

Roots New Member Class took place after worship. We had a terrific group. In the last couple of weeks we’ve had approximately 14 new souls added to our number (members and their family). Wow! In Roots I share my heart and hopes for our church and future. In January I hope to have the opportunity to share with more of you as we renew our covenants.

Then last night we held a Church Security Workshop. A number of you showed up. Amazing! I had two key takeaways. First, if you see something say something. It takes us all. Secondly, fear not & be vigilant. We’ll not live in fear. We will be safe. Our speaker applauded our efforts thus far. Let us not grow weary!

This week is our week of prayer for international missions and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. I hope you received a prayer guide. In the Facebook prayer group you’ll see reminders. Ask the Lord what you and your family should give to the offering. Our goal is $20,000. In the Worship Center, every candle represents $1,000 given to LMCO. Equal sacrifice not equal gifts. Your gifts and prayers will transform lives. You can give here.

Christmas Eve falls on Sunday this year. I have a challenge. Invite and bring people, friends, neighbors. If you never ask, they’ll never come. We have invite cards for you. Pick them up at the Connection Table. Over 80% of guests visit a church when invited by a friend not because of the music, preaching, facilities, programs, etc. Churches grow when people bring. Be a bringer this Christmas!

I’m starting my own new hashtag. #LWGD Look. What. God is. Doing. Galatians 6.9, ‘And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.’
