END OF THE BEGINNING

The book of Luke begins (1.15-23) and ends in the same place (24.53), the temple. It begins with great sorrow and ends with great blessing. Luke 24 is the end of the beginning. Christ has defeated death and has authority to forgive sins because of the Resurrection. Jesus reminds readers. The cross and resurrection was God’s plan from the start. Luke ends the book where he began. He calls readers then and now to repent and receive the promise of the Savior.
