“Of whom the world was not worthy—wandering about in deserts and
mountains and in dens and caves of the earth.” HEBREWS 11.38
Our family loves superheroes. You can usually identify them by the capes they wear. Real, true heroes look differently. The writer of Hebrews was thinking of a group of women (v35). These woman died and watched their loved ones die for the faith. They endured not with superpowers but the Spirit of the Lord. What should we do? What should be our response? This Sunday thank them. Find creative ways to do it. Pray for them. Serve them. Finally glorify God for them.
FAMILY GATHERING
Next Sunday is our final Member Meeting before summer. It will be special. Michael Slack is smoking some briskets for us to savor. I’m asking families to bring covered dishes to share. We also have some special guests. Shane Robert will share about his recent trip Guatemala. Dr. Kenneth Priest from SBTexas will share about the Church Revitalization program which will begin in earnest this fall. We will be celebrating those who have been baptized and joined the church since September. Man! It’ll be great. Maybe you haven’t been in awhile? Come to this one!
I THANK MY GOD UPON EVERY REMEMBRANCE OF YOU
I have wanted to thank you for your patience and support as we’ve made some changes around the church. I wanted to share how they are making a difference. People see them. While buying some things from Chick-fil-a for Secret Church, a manager commented about our sign. She described it in detail. She had not seen our church previously! Seven baptisms since Easter?! Can you believe it? God is good.
