‘I will bless those who bless you…in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’
Genesis 12.3
How can we bless Flower Mound and the rest of our community? The blessing of Abraham is the gospel of Jesus Christ. As we spread it on the streets and in the homes, Flower Mound will be blessed. We are working hard to achieve this mandate.
The partnership providing GED is thriving. Also, Young Life of FM is moving in & will begin operations on-site. It demonstrates our desire to reach/love teens around us. This Tuesday several of us will personally meet and invite those participants to join us in worship and for Explore God. Pray for those encounters. Adventure Week and Soccer Camp opened wide our doors to say, ‘Jesus loves the little children and so does FMFB!’ Families told us it was the best experience of their summer. What an affirmation of the Lord’s activity! Another opportunity is the Red Cross Blood Drive on July 30th. Even if you can’t donate blood you can participate. We need you! We can and will do more.
Our staff held another strategic meeting with Morgan Malone of DBA. Out of that meeting came this simple vision. FMFB is, ‘in Flower Mound for Flower Mound as it is in heaven.’ What if our building? Our church family? Was a gift to the community from Jesus?
‘Go out to the highways & hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled,’ Luke 14.23
WORSHIP IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH
It’s going to be a great Sunday this weekend. Why? Because we’ll all be together in worship around the Word. We’ll address a topic familiar to us in hopefully a fresh way. We all wrestle with this subtle sin. I promise. I would like to invite all of you to join me on Sunday night at 5p for Vespers Bible Study. Maybe you’ve never been? It’s a good time. I’m starting a study called ‘Summer in the Psalms.’ As you read this beloved book, I want to point out significant signposts for the Savior. It’ll be a sweet, intimate time in the Word. There’ll be surprises along the way.
THE YOUNG AT HEART
I’d like to speak to specific segment of our family now. You may feel overlooked and under appreciated at times. Adventure Week and the lives touched could not have occurred without your support. I am speaking specifically of the wise, mature adults. Notice I did not mention age or grey hair 🙂 God isn’t finished with you. How do I know? You’re reading this message! We have a number of events planned in the coming days. You’ll hear of these soon and very soon. I also have a burden for a new ministry. As the Lord directs me, I’ll be looking for certain ones of you to support and lead. Until then, pray for your pastor as we seek to be a church that looks like heaven. Multicultural and multi-generational. For we are one in Christ.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS:
- Summer in the Psalms — 07/24
- Pre-Teen Camp — 07/25
- Red Cross Blood Drive — 07/30
- Equip Mega Conference — 08/13
BE READY FOR WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY:
- Reading and reflecting on Exodus 16.1-12
- Praying for ministry volunteers and worship team.
- Inviting and bringing someone with you.
- Listening to these great songs: This Is Amazing Grace; Your Love Never Fails; How Great Thou Art; How Great Is Our God; and Lord, I Need You.
What God has done could not have occurred without you, FM Family! Thank you for following Christ by denying yourself in areas of time, talent, and your treasure. You have honored his kingdom with your devotion. Let’s finish this summer strong and determine to have fabulous fall. Don’t be content to sit on the sidelines; get in the game. We must all be faithful in our giving even when we are elsewhere. You can give online or in the service. Your soreness and sweat equity will pay dividends in the salvation of lost souls. Persevere!
Sent Together,
