Four Words
What if four words could change your destiny? Wouldn’t you want to know them? Wouldn’t you want your children to hear them? Do you remember those four words from Sunday? I hope some of you found yourself repeating them. Reflecting. Considering. Applying. Maybe you missed them on Sunday or were not with us? What are those four words? Are you ready?
Jesus. In. My. Place.
What is the gospel? Where do we find hope when we fail? How can you address the painful accusations of the evil one? Jesus in my place. He stepped up and in to do what we could not do. No amount of good works will remove the pain of past sins. Attempts at self-salvation always end in futility. The blame for every wrong thing you’ve done he accepted. We can fall on Jesus in our pain and suffering because he suffered on our behalf.
He died the death that he did not deserve so that we could live a life we do not deserve. Pain? Torture? Humiliation? Pilate himself said, ‘I see no guilt in this man.’ Jesus did not deserve that. Joy? Peace? Fulfillment? Eternity in heaven? We do not deserve that.
So this week may we look and live. Look away from the worthless things of this world. Look unto the one worthy of worship and undying love. By faith see Jesus in your place.
