This is not a drill!

We need God’s wisdom. Today especially. The events in Las Vegas stir questions and fear in souls. Why this? Why now? How do we handle this? The passage which we examined yesterday in the message and this coming week in Small Groups speaks directly to these questions.

In case you wondered. This is not a drill. This is a test.

Will the church speak to the pain and brokenness of our world? Leaders will cast blame and offer temporary solutions to fix America. The problem with our country is spiritual not political. Unfortunately, events like Las Vegas and Edmonton in Canada can only be thwarted by a change of heart.

We need the wisdom from above to speak truth. Our children deserve it. Our world is hopeless without it.

You can’t limit God’s wisdom. “Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.” (Psalm 147:5, ESV)

You can’t define/ explain it. “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.” (Isaiah 40:28, ESV)

You can’t defeat it. ““Behold, God is mighty, and does not despise any; he is mighty in strength of understanding.” (Job 36:5, ESV)

You can’t find fault with it. “Do you know the  balancing of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge,” (Job 37:16, ESV)

Tonight as lay your head on the pillow, ask the Lord for wisdom. He is ready. Willing. And more than able.
