Lost

Luke 15 can be summarized in one word. Lost. A shepherd loses his sheep. A woman loses her treasure. A father loses his sons. A lost person is separated from the love and care of the Father. They are in danger. To understand the three parables the opening verses are key. Jesus has ‘received’ sinners and there’s a group who doesn’t like it. Jesus is the shepherd who searches until he finds. He spares nothing to hunt for lost treasure. Why? He is our true elder brother sent by the father to find the lost.
