Meeting God
Jesus focuses on our approach to God in Luke 18. He uses two parables alongside real life examples. The final encounter in Luke 18 brings the chapter to a nice conclusion. The blind beggar illustrates what Jesus has taught. Nothing will hinder his cry and he is heard. Like the publican he cries for mercy which by nature is unearned. Like the child with daring faith he asks to regain his sight. He sees with faith what others missed by sight. Only the true Messiah could have restored his sight. Disciples come to Jesus with humble honesty and dangerous wonder.
