1. HARVEST AMERICA
Harvest America happens Sunday night at ATT Stadium. There’s time to sign up for the bus by clicking here. Lunch and snacks for the bus ride will be provided by Mission Team after church for those going. The bus will leave at 1p. HA also needs 10,000 volunteers and at this time only 5,000 have signed up. If you will help, visit serve.harvestamerica.com.
  2. YOU SHOULD SERVE NOW
One of our group leaders sent this to the group and I wanted to share the words. Church is not a spectator activity where we all come and receive and leave.  It is rather an participating activity where we all work together to enhance the experience for the whole body.  In scripture terms, I Peter 4:10 tells us, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”  Don’t wait to be asked to serve somewhere.  If God has given you a gift, an ability, that you think might help the church family in some way, ask the pastor where you might serve.
  3. SHIPWRECKED VBS
The largest outreach effort of our church is VBS. It cannot be done without all of us. You don’t have to be talented or great at games; you have to love Jesus. What if a family without Jesus began attending because of God’s word spoken through your mouth? Begin praying now. The evil one will work harder than us to tear down what we endeavor to build us. Remember. Jesus is greater and stronger. The gates of hell will not prevail.
  4. SUMMER ACTIVITY
Summer should be filled with lots of Blue Bell and cold watermelon. Set aside special time this summer to slow down and go deeper with Christ. There are several prayer reminders in this week’s Sunday program. Continue to make your giving a priority even when you are away. Nothing is on television so catch up on the Jesus Project Bible reading. God has a word. ‘Take care, lest you forget the Lord your God by not keeping his commandments…and you forget your the Lord your God who brought you out,’ Deut 8v11.
  5. DEACON AFFIRMATION
As was announced last Sunday, there will be a special member meeting on Sunday, June 17 after worship. We will affirm the call of new deacons to serve alongside us.
