JUST GETTING STARTED

The book of Luke and Acts are really two parts of a whole (v1-3). The story has just begun! Jesus is getting started. Verse 8 works as an outline for the rest of the story. The disciples are prepared by Jesus for what is to come. Much of the action in the book centers around the activity and as a direct result of prayer. A church without prayer is a fire with no oxygen. The Word of God also shapes and forms the worship and work of this incendiary fellowship. From Acts 1 to chapter 28 it all comes back to Jesus. He’s got more to do. You’ll eventually see there is no final chapter of Acts; it hasn’t been written (v11; 28.30-31). Like the early church Jesus isn’t finished with this church and our final chapter has not been written. So, let Acts propel us to proclaim and pray together.
