SPIRIT-FILLED SERVANTS
Acts 6 offers a helpful look into the inner workings of the young church. Already facing pressure and enduring suffering (Acts 5), the church now encounters internal struggle and must face it head-on. Neglect then and now leads to estrangement and disharmony. Like Moses appointing faithful servants to shoulder the load, the church sets apart Spirit-filled servants to get busy. The problem opens the door for greater partnership and the gospel is multiplied. The Word created the church; therefore, the church body and leadership is driven by the Word. With the internal opposition behind them, external persecution only begins to intensify. Yet, the Lord does great wonders through his body and the church shines in a dark world.
