SCATTERED
Following the instructions of Jesus, the church was to spread the gospel from Jerusalem into Judea, Samaria, and beyond. In Acts 8, the Lord utilizes the persecution to spread the church. A new section begins that leads to the mission appointment of Barnabas and Paul in Acts 13. Persecution and opposition could not stop the Lord and his people. Everywhere they went they took the Word and witness of the Spirit with them. People were hearing and families were being saved. Cities experienced real, lasting joy not because of government but the gospel. There was revival. Church leaders make disciples and raise up new leaders. In the midst of revival the Spirit moves a great Graham-like evangelist to the sticks. The Lord had an appointment with an influential African who could spread the gospel onto another continent. Left in the hands of the Lord, the impact of the church is beyond belief.

I am happy to announce our search team invites you to hear and meet a prospective candidate for Associate Pastor of Students and Worship next weekend. He and his wife will spend the weekend meeting and connecting with different groups. On Saturday, August 18, at 5p, students and their parents can enjoy some food and games with the possible Student Ministry Leader. On Sunday, August 19, at 10a, there’ll be coffee and breakfast treats in the Worship Center for an informal reception with the prospective couple. He will then lead us in song and worship. A brief member meeting will follow the worship gathering. It’ll be great!
I’ll give you more details this Sunday. You’ll learn their names this Sunday. It is exciting. God has person for this place. There are greater days ahead if we follow in his steps.
