I will miss being with you this Sunday morning. Thank you for your prayers for Lisa, Duke, and me. Throughout this time God has been with us and giving us his strength. Morgan Malone will preach in my place this Sunday. Morgan is the Director of Missions for the Denton Baptist Association. The DBA is a network of churches to spread the gospel in Denton County. Prior to becoming our DOM, he was the pastor of First Baptist Bonham. I am honored to have him in our church. I trust you will make him welcome.
JULY FOURTH PARADE
On July 4th, there is a children’s parade that begins adajcent to our parking lot. Now, many of you in the past have handed out water during the festivities. We need you to rise up again. Because the streets will be closed for the parade, arrive at the church by 8.30a. We will walk through the crowds handing out cold bottles of water and flyers to various church events. We need your support to make this a success.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Beginning in July, we will be collecting children’s clothing items for Operation Christmas Child. We are collecting items throughout the year rather than waiting until November to collect boxes. There’ll be a packing party to put our boxes together. Imagine if we all brought a few items each month the number of boxes we could send out from our church. If you would prefer, you may give a monetary donation designated to Operation Christmas Child. You can give on Sundays or through our website. We have volunteers ready to buy the items on your behalf.
