NEW PURPOSE
Acts 9 is a turning point for the book and a person. Paul had big plans; yet, he didn’t know God had bigger plans for Paul. Suddenly, Jesus appears and disrupts his plans. The vision of the Risen Lord forever changed the trajectory of his life. The Lord powerfully placed other disciples along the path to prepare and teach Paul. There was Ananias who baptized him and helped in his first steps. Then Barnabas comes along and stands up for the former persecutor. Only God could orchestrate these intersections. Quickly, Paul moves from the persecutor to the persecuted. From this point forward, much of the action and advance centers on Jesus’ work in & through this man. Despite suffering and attacks, Luke writes, ‘the church had peace.’ The greatness of God was greater than machinations of man. The major figure and hero in Acts 9 is not Paul; it’s Jesus. The chapter closes with two special lives changed by God’s power. No one is beyond the reach of the Good Shepherd.

Sunday will be a fun day! The Lord works everything according to his purpose. As we’re looking at Acts 9 and Paul’s call, we’ll potentially be calling our next associate pastor. It is exciting. God has person for this place. There are greater days ahead if we follow in his steps.
He’ll be leading worship this Sunday at 10.30a. Prior to worship, enjoy some coffee and donuts together in Worship Center beginning at 10a. I’ll be looking for you, friends!
