JESUS’ NAME

Where Acts 2 focuses on the masses, Acts 3 is focused on two men. One is needs rescue and the other is the Savior himself. It’s a good reminder. Acts is first and foremost focused on the continued work of Christ through his church. The man’s brokenness is not merely physical. He’s outside the temple and physically away from God’s presence and people. The man is healed. The glory of God is revealed. As in Acts 2, a sound draws a crowd and gives the church an opportunity. The church is empowered by the Spirit as a witness to a watching world. The church is living proof of a living Savior. Faith in the name of Jesus released power so that lives are changed. Peter & John were humble & obedient to point away from themselves to Jesus. The church shifts the focus back to Jesus.
